Gun owners and supporters are invited to attend a peaceful rally that will be held at the corner of Columbia Center Blvd. and Canal Drive in Kennewick from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday Feb. 23.

The National Day of Resistance is a grass-roots effort that sprang up in the wake of President Barack Obama's actions on Jan. 16 when he issued 23 Executive Actions, several of which appear to violate the Second Amendment. In response, hundreds of rallies and protests will be taking place on Feb. 23 (or .223 as supporters refer to it).

The Tri-Cities rally is one of five slated to happen across the state of Washington, including one in Yakima. The Yakima rally will take place at Millennium Plaza across from the Capitol Theater.

Supporters are urged to bring signs showing peaceful support of gun owners' rights.
