Although we don't laugh about crimes, there is a serious element of humor here.

Kennewick police said they easily apprehended a daytime burglary suspect Tuesday when they arrived at the home, and "announced" there was a K-9 police dog ready to enter the home if the suspect didn't surrender.

A 911 call came in from the owner, who had left the home for a few days. As it turned out the suspect, Hatsada Nanthavongsa, had forced his way into the vacant home, and had been living there for a few days.

The homeowner returned, to find obvious signs of forced entry. They called 911, and all the officers had to do was inform Hatsada there was a police dog ready to 'meet his acquaintance.'  He surrendered without incident.

In this photo provided by Kennewick police, the dog appears to be thinking, "ooooh...lemme go...lemme go get 'im!"  We kinda wish they had, but officers give suspects the opportunity to surrender before turn the dog loose.
