Man Arrested for Threatening, Chasing People in Park

An obviously disturbed man is in the Benton County jail after Kennewick police arrested him for irrational, threatening behavior late Wednesday night.

Police received a call about a man who had already chased a passer-by through Lawrence Scott Park on Canal Drive , then was pacing around the bathroom area  yelling he was going to kill people.

Travis C. Simpson was arrested without incident, officers did not say if they suspected he was under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.

He was jailed on a charge of Provoking Assault.
